Unexpected configuration error when installing WLK 1.6

I am trying to install the WLK and DTM on a windows 7 x86 64bit.
The installation keeps aborting with the error message “Unexpected
configuration error”.
Does any body have a suggestion what the problem might be? The WLK
version is 1.6.8367.0.

I search that in OSR:

But it did not work for me.

What do you mean? You’re installing them on an x86 AND an x64 bit machine? Obvious question, but are you installing them on the proper platform?

I installed Windows7 64bit Edition on X64 platform.

When I installed WLK 1.6 on windows server 2008 X86 platform.

Unfortunately, same problem.

The DTM controller is only supported on Server 2008 R2.
