The best way to make new median/device look like an existing devi- ce on Win2000/NT/XP

Dear All,

Thank’s for many of your reply.

Due to our limited knowledge on Window’s file system, the FSD is just our
first thought.
Please correct us if we are in the wrong way.

Our orginal goal is make our new median/device look like an existing device
on windows 2000/NT/XP file system drivers.

In term of IFSKit or OSR kit, one of you kindly suggest us the cheapest (in
terms of effort) way
to do this is to develop a SCSI miniport driver that simulates a SCSI
device.

Please kindly let us have your comments or suggestion on this approach.

Lees.

Hi,

This can be done. I mean writing file system that will talk
directly to
your storage device. But you’d better develop SCSI miniport
or SCSI port
driver that will be sitting between your file system driver
and storage
device. So you’ll be able to use ANY file system that
operationg system
supports. This can even eliminate the need of developing your own FSD.
