TCP Stack Before Volume Stack

Hello People,

I wanted to know whether it is possible for the tcp stack to come up before the volume stack after a reboot.

Since it?s possible to boot with the software ISCSI initiator (and appropriate boot bios code or PXE wedge), the answer would have to be yes.

On the other hand, if you?re booting from a network device, it?s impossible (or extremely difficult) to support things like crash dumps to a network served volume. This generally makes network software based storage less than ideal as boot media.
