We want to get our NDIS IM driver signed by WHQL. HCT documentation lists
different hardware requirements for WinXP and Win2003. We would like to do all
the tests on one system, but it is not a must. Anyway, finding the right system
turned out to be a difficult task. The requirements are:
- 4 CPUs for 2003, good for XP too
- Minimum of 4GB RAM for 2003, fine for XP
- For Windows 2003 the system BIOS (unmodified) must support either (S1 or
S4),
or (S3 and S4) power management states and comply with Windows Logo System and
Device Requirements version 2.0. For XP the BIOS must support (S1 and S3 and
S4).
Contacting vendors and distributors did not get us anywhere. It seems that the
power management states question is too much for them.
I guess I am not the first one to deal with this problem. Can anyone recommend
a
system that can be used for the tests? Complying with 2003 requirements only is
fine too.
Any tips are welcome.
