Symbolic information found in free build

I’ve just discovered something strange.

When I perform a free build of a driver in the W2k DDK,
I am getting full symbolic information in my .sys/.pdb
files. In other words, if I break into a system running
my free-build driver, I can dump formatted structures,
get line number information, etc.

I did not experience this with driver built in the NT4 DDK.

Is this supposed to behave like this? Will this have any
adverse affect on the performance of my driver?

If it’s not supposed to behave like this, can anyone tell
me what is causing it? I certainly haven’t put anything
in my sources file to specify that this should happen
(Note - I see in my build log that the /Z7 option is there,
but I haven’t set it anywhere).
