STREAMS support in 2K and XP?

I have an Network driver that ideally I would like to be (semi-)portable
between Win2K and Solaris.

The NT4 DDK shows that there is a STREAMS portability module (Network
Drivers/Design Guide/Appendix B).

My Win2Kpro system still has STREAMS.SYS, but the documentation for STREAMS
is no longer in the DDK (as of Win2K).

Is STREAMS deprecated in Win2K, and will it even exist in XP? If it’s
around, it would seem to make my life easier.

Sorry, the streams interface is definitely HIGHLY deprecated. It was only
really used through NT V3.5 (if I remember correctly)… and even then it
was not, ah, very efficient.

It really isn’t something you’d wanan write a product to use. In fact, it
never was…

I used STREAMS in NT V4.0 for interfacing with a telephonic card
manufactured by Intel

If you mean ADS(Alternative data streams) of NTFS files(file1:stream1), one
my
friend have writed programm for joke which write to
alternative data streams of system files(\WINNT\System32)
big data massives. For stealthily trashing hard drive(file managers
shows size of default file stream).
