I’ve just installed the SoftIce Driver Suite 2.0 on Win2k/SP1 and I’m getting a
STOP 0x7F (0x8 …) indicating a double-fault in exception handling trying to
debug my driver. Does anyone know if this is a known issue ?

Try to search KB on NuMega website and if it doesn’t help, fill a bugreport
form to inform their tech support. They usually respond during 24 hours and
are willing to solve fatal problems.

Problem disappeard when setting softICE’s driver to “boot” instead of manual.
Strangely, changing back to “Manual” did not make the problem reappear.
Apparently, the softICE driver must always be set to “boot” as far as the
service/device/win2k is concerned, but the special softICE program used for
changing the start-up status changes flags so that the service does not load
completely.
