Hello,
I have been told before that this is not the right forum to ask questions
about softice but I am doing so after receiving not much help from the
softice customer support people. Their suggestions till now have not done me
any good, so the chances of meeting some developer here who would have faced
this problem which is like really frustrating.
are higher.
My OS: I am using MS Windows 2000 with softice version 2.6 on a x86 family
based computer and an intel Celeron CPU with 128 mb ram (also tried this
with higher) with a monochrome adapter.
My Problem: Initially when softice has been freshly installed then every
thing works fine till I encounter some error and have to restart my machine
, once I have restarted my machine softice doesn’t load from boot option and
hence I cant debug drivers. This is extremely surprising because I haven’t
made any changes which should affect softice to not load.
So the messages which I get when ever I reboot my machine are “press esc to
stop loading siwvid” then it skips loading softice
The way around.: Though softice from boot option is disabled after this and
when ever i try doing that, it would just skip that option .The work around
I have figured out till now are to load softice manually then there is no
problem but its not much of help to me as I have to debug display drivers ,
second option and which makes everything working is that I reinstall softice
but this is also a temporary solution till I encounter any error to make
softice stop working again.
This is a really frustrating problem I am facing and cant figure out a way
out of this , it has been over two weeks that I have been interacting with
Numega people but they have not given me any promising steps to eradicate
the problem.
If any one in these newsgroup has faced a problem similar to this please
advice me.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks & Regards,
Nitin Kapoor
Nitin,
Try getting Driver Studio 2.7. My experience with 2.5 is bad and
2.7 is good. I never received 2.6
-Srin.
