Slow driver load on Win7x64 debug mode

I am developing a driver on W7x64. I have enabled debug mode, test signing and disabled integrity checks. I sign my driver with a test certificate I installed also on the W7x64. When I try loading the driver it takes up to 30s until the driver really gets loaded. This happens always even if WinDBG is not attached or no COM port is open. What is causing this delay and how can I disable it? It is really annoying.

Can you be more specific in terms of what it is that you’re timing? 30s from what to what?

Partly, it depends on how you are loading your new driver. If it has to
do a full install, it may be going out to the Interwebs to check the
Windows Driver Library for a better driver.

When I do debugging, I only do the full install once. After that, I
just copy the new .sys into place and “devcon restart”. This has been
made more difficult in Windows 10.
