Dear all,
Can my signed PCI WDM/MCE drivers run seamlessly in upcoming Vista
(including 64-bit versions)? Can I also get the Vista logo w/o changes? If
not, is there any migration document from MS? It seems to have the guide
for ‘fom WDM to KMDF’, but nothing regarding WDM or MCE (AV Stream)for
Vista. It is very possible that I might have overlooked something, so
please bear with me.
Thanks
AH

WDM drivers should work virtually without change. I’ve had mixed
results with my MCE drivers. The AVStream drivers seemed to slip in OK,
but the user-mode filters have had a little trouble.
Did you submit both your 32-bit and 64-bit drivers for WHQL signatures?
Remember that 64-bit systems cannot use 32-bit drivers, and that 64-bit
drivers MUST be signed.

The Vista logo will require that you use DTM to do your testing. That’s
a big investment. There are documents on the WHQL web site about this,
at http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/. Look for “Windows Logo Program”.

Both true… but don’t forget to add MY favorite requirement: You can’t submit 32-bit drivers for Logo without ALSO submitting 64-bit drivers for the same device.
