show volume control on the taskbar

Hi,

In my WinNT AC97 audio driver, a check box for “show volume control on the taskbar” is always disabled.
(ControlPanel–> Multimedia–>Audio tab.)

How can I make it Enable so that one can check/uncheck it. ?
