Hi,
I would like to know how to set up a stand alone Win xp box as a Network
Protocol Time server.
I was able to set up a win xp m/c lying in a domain as the ntp server.
But I am unable to talk to the stand alone xp box. It is recognizing it as a
stratum 16 server from a unix m/c. How am I to set this box as a stratum 2
or 3 server?
bash-2.04# ntpdate -d 10.4.127.68

When I tried to synch the stand alone m/c with a domain controller, I get
the following error
C:\>net time \10.4.127.185
The Workstation service has not been started.
But when the same command given from a machine in the same domain, works
successfully
C:\Documents and Settings\smohan>net time \10.4.127.185
Current time at \10.4.127.185 is 3/17/2004 1:29 AM
Local time (GMT+05:30) at \10.4.127.185 is 3/17/2004 11:59 AM
The command completed successfully.
Thanks,
