serial port driver & modem driver Help needed!

Hi ppl,

In Win2000 i have my serial port driver, let me call it myportdrv.sys,
installed in COM1. From the device manager if i see the driver details for
COM1, myportdrv.sys is listed.
Now if i install a serial modem in COM1, the installation goes thro’ fine,
but the driver details for the modem lists serial.sys as the port driver
loaded rather than myportdrv.sys. Though serial.sys is displayed, only
myportdrv.sys entry points are being called.

Can anyone let me know what settings should be changed so that the device
manager lists myportdrv.sys as the driver loaded in modem driver details.

Thanx in advance

Regards
Anandhi

Win9x used to say that the driver for a modem’s serial port was comm.drv!
comm.drv was the 16 bit communications driver for Windows 3.1. Perhaps Win2k
is similarly confused when displaying this information and doesn’t bother to
check to see if a replacement driver is handling the serial port.
