SCSI virtual miniport driver

Hi All,

What all I need to do in my W2K/XP SCSI virtual miniport driver to make
it compatible with .net XP OS.

Thanks in advance.

Oh boy … virtual SCSI mini-port drivers … First I would recommend that
you scan this list. A lot of information has been posted here concerning
virtual SCSI mini-ports. Also look for psuedo SCSI mini-ports, which are the
same thing. These are miniports that want to perform SCSI mini-port
operations but have no underlying hardware, or they may have underlying
hardware, but the mini-port itself will not “own” critical items such as the
ISR.

The general consensus is that SCSIPORT and STORPORT are not set up to play
well with virtual SCSI mini-ports. They really expect the mini-port to have
underlying hardware. Without hooking HwInterrupt you will incur a 10 ms
delay using the SCSI callback functions.

I would recommend you forgo using SCSIPORT or STORPORT and go to a third
party SCSI support library, such as provided by Storage Craft.
