Schedules

Would anyone mind sharing with a prospective NTFSD developer their experience as to how long [person-hours] it typically takes to do an NT file system driver. Not a filter driver, but a real-live file system. We would be most appreciative.

Depends on a lot of factors, but the folks I’ve encountered who
have done it indicate 2 to 3 man years for a developed filesystem
if you use the OSR filesystem kit, and 4 to 5 man years without.
Most of this was before the NT IFS kit came out, so things may
have gotten better, but then again the OSR kit has become rock
solid in that time also, so both time probably improved.
