Sample calling undocumented functions

The winddk\src\setup\pnpports sample is make calls to various functions with
ComDB in their names (OpenComDB, CloseComDB, ComDBGetCurrentPortUsage,
ComDBClaimNextFreePort, etc., etc.). However, I can find no formal
documentation in either the DDK nor the SDK which identifies the calling
forms for these functions, identifies what the parameters are or the values
they can accept, or any description on what the functions are supposed to
do. Al I have been able to find is some losely documented headers in the
msports.h, which is not a very acceptable form of documentation.

Bottomline, can these functions be safely used despite the fact that they
are only documented in code?

Yes, they can be used. They should be documented in the .net ddk; it
was an oversite that it was not in the win2k ddk.

Sorry, I’ve installed the 3678 disitribution of the .net ddk and they are
not documented there. As I have not been able to get to the beta website
since the hack a few weeks ago, 3678 is the lastest and greatest DDK I have
at the moment.
