Hi,
I badly need to know what triggers the NTLDR to automatically (without
pressing F8) bring up the safe mode menu. This normally occurs when a driver
has crashed during boot time.
I´ve looked at the registry, MBR, bootsector, files on bootpartition, etc.
but found nothing. I expect some sort of flag somewhere?

their is two way to this…
First send the ASCII value of F8 to BIOS …
Second you have to write a boot loader and it will be get call before NTLDR…

Yes, but I want to know what HOW the NTLDR knows to bring up the menu? What is the trigger? Where is the flag? MBR? Bootsector? Registry? File?

Cool ringtones, snazzy logos. Expressive MMS cards and pix. Tune in to a whole new world.
Ok, but where does that value come from? Must be stored on HD somewhere?
I need to know which file/sector/registry hive that contains that “dirty boot” flag.

Would it be unreasonable for me to ask why you want to know this? What
is it that you’re trying to do/fix/avoid/hack??

Well, not for production code. But in some cases on our testing environment
I badly need to to avoid this menu to be shown.
I´ve tried comparing the registry, MBR, Bootsector, and “dir /s” listings
but found nothing. Guess it´s time to dust off that good old disasm… sigh.
