return value from FilterGetMessage

Hello all,

The documentation with my IFS kit (3790.1430) says
that FilterGetMessage will return the value
FILTER_E_IO_PENDING if the lpOverlapped parameter is
not NULL. However, I can’t find FILTER_E_IO_PENDING
in the headers.

Has anyone out there encountered this problem?

Is it safe to ignore the return value of
FilterGetMessage if I have passed in an OVERLAPPED
structure?

Thanks,
Derek

Yes, I’ve certainly run into it. It actually returns ERROR_IO_PENDING
(0x800703E5) when overlapped I/O is pending. I’ve never found
FILTER_E_IO_PENDING anywhere.

Thanks Ken,

At least your message will get this in the OSR mailing
list archives (and eventually Google). I doubt a web
search will find FILTER_E_IO_PENDING anywhere else

We have already fixed this issue in the Vista IFSKit documentation.
Thanks for pointing this out.
