Hi,
I tried to run WLK logo submission using WLK 1.5 for my USB printer driver and ran into following issues in server 2008 (not R2):
According to the WLK device console, DP Hot Add / Replace tests have to be run to get WLK logo submission. But according to the documentation, server 2008 R2 data center edition is needed for this.
Following are my questions:
- If we run the WLK testing using server 2008 standard or enterprise editions in x64, do we need DP hot add/ replace tests for signature? Since documentation says R2 version is needed for these tests, it is confusing to see them in device console for non R2 editions.
- Is it necessary that 2008 R2 datacenter edition has to be used to obtain digital signature?
- If DP tests have to be successful, is it necessary that the tests I run are in a DP hardware or simulation will be supported by WLK to run in normal machine? If I can run in normal machine, what is the needed machine configuration? Is it quad core or dual core with hyper threading …?
I know this may not be the relevant news group for this but if somebody had same problem in the past, they can throw light on this.
I just can answer part of your questions.
- Yes, you need to run DP hot add/replace tests for signature for R2 and non R2 editions because these test cases will be added automatically when you create submission.
- Not sure, but it’s necessary to use WHQL test to verify your driver stability in R2 datacenter edition.
- In a normal machine should be fine and that what I’ve done. Your target machine should have at least 2 CPUs (core) and more than 4GB memory. If so, you can find those test cases are listed in your submission.
Thanks
Wayne
