I had to face the same situation; But I had a partition with Win98 and this
message occurs only if I select Win 2000 from the boot menu, after
installing XP; For me, the XP and 98 are working well; One more thing, I
wasn’t upgrading from 2K instead chose to leave the current settings intact;
