Re:[SPAM] Re:Re:Driver Programming Fundamentals/Philosophy, was: Re: Calling NdisRequest() f

Whether that is true or not, who cares? Why on earth would you prefer
someone who has spent more of his or her time studying material other
than the most pertinent? You certainly may be correct in any particular
case or cases, but if your playing the odds, you really should stop
gambling. I can’t say that I really see an upside to this. As a
practical consideration, how many people on this list have a Ph. D. in
computer science? Anybody? Personally, on a practical note, why you
would want to hire someone who is used to tenure and summers off is
beyond me. Academia is a strange, in my opinion, deeply unattractive
place, that works very differently, because the incentives are
different. In particular, they uncomprimisingly poor at adapting to new
situations, because they have never had to do so in the past, as they
are used to dealing with students from a position of power, and thus are
“experts.” They may know everything or nothing; it makes no difference,
and they can hold totally preposterous positions because their are no
real consequences for being incorrect - no one loses his or her job
(which is guaranteed in most cases), et. c. The only way to really get
discredited, other than personal behavior, is to admit that you are
wrong.

And how much time do you think it takes to figure out what a
FAST_MUTEX
is??

Besides this FAST_MUTEX guy you just hired, will scratch your head
when
FASTMUTEX
is replaced in the OS by SUPERFAST_MUTEX.

A good idea is to study the OS from the OS itself and its developer
docs, not
from theoretic books.
