Looks like you’re trying to translate PDB files ? Try loading and
translating the DLLs instead. The SoftICE Loader translates executables, not
symbol files.

Even I have faced this problem.Try Rebuilding and restarting the system or
try to rename your driver and then load the symbols.

Subject: [ntdev] SoftICE problem: cannot translate Windows XP symbolsHi there!
I’ve got the newest SoftICE Driver Suite (2.6) and a retail build of
Windows
XP (2600). Installed symbols are the ones for XP found on
www.microsoft.com/debugging.
Now my problem: I cannot translate ANY symbol file - the loader is moaning
about “unsupported format”. VC DLLs for PDB files (from VC6 and VC7) are
present.Does anybody have an appropriate solution for this?
Thank you in advance,
Alex–
