ThinkGeek has a great device they call the “Annoy-O-Tron”. It’s a tiny
circuit board, about the size of a postage stamp. You put in a battery
and hide it in a hated co-workers office. It then beeps, once, at
random intervals from one minute to eight minutes – just short enough
that the beeps seem related, but not often enough for you to isolate the
source of the sound.

The web site talks about one office manager who had the entire office
scouring her office for the source of “that damn beeping”.
