attached to one computer

Hi,
I have attached several USB mice to one computer. They 'll be assigned
to different players in a game.
Using DirectInput I couldn’t get it to work, all mice are in sync. I
searched around the net, fiddled with mouclass registry entries, but it
all boils down to W2K cant handle this because of its RIT, mixing all
mouse input.
The only way to fix it - if any, is IMHO something like a low level
driver.
That’s why I’m here. Is it possible? Has someone done it before?
I have no experiences with NT4/W2K drivers, so some advice/source would
be very appriciated.
TIA, Ingo
