Am I right that NDISWAN uses the MAC address field to store pointer to its
internal structure?

Yes, both local and remote MAC addresses are used for this purpose (see
NDIS_WAN_LINE_UP docs for details). IIRC local address is for upper driver
and remote for lower one. Some drivers store index to internal structures
array there and some (mine :slight_smile: a structure address. M$ drivers fail to check
validity of stored data so any bug there causes BSOD. On the other hand,
this crash quickly indicates a bug in IM driver :wink:
