Re: I have problems with Nvidia RIVA TNT

Dear Abel,
this situation is well know to all.
If you click the tab “Settings” in display properties, the BSOD is shown
everytime.
Debug/Release and all drivers from Nvidia.
I think, that they haven’t working driver.
Sorry.

What *are* you fellows talking about? Do you have the Debug version, or do
you have the Release version. Whatever you have, the binaries you are using
got built one way or the other. So which is it?

Do you have the checked or free build of NT4? From the information in your
message, I can’t tell which build you have. Did you install the appropriate
build service pack? I’ve never tried to install a checked build service
pack on a free build OS, nor have I tried to install a free build service
pack on a checked build OS, so I don’t know if it would be possible to do,
but if the SP application succeeds, I doubt it would be real stable. I
can’t tell whether you did this or not.

Lastly, if you are trying to install an aftermarket driver on the checked
build of the OS, don’t. If you are working with the checked build of the
OS, use the driver shipped with the OS. I am aware that means that you are
probably limited to plain vanilla VGA, but so what? I only use it for
driver testing, and I assume, perhaps wrongly, that’s what everyone else
uses the checked build for.

GeForce 2MX works OK with w2k - this feature too.

Hi,
I have the checked build of NT4.

I have solved this problem with the correct Nvidia RIVA TNT driver version.
