oh - this is an NT4 or earlier system?
then you do need to send IOCTL_DISK_FIND_NEW_DEVICES to any disk device
on the system. \.\PhysicalDrive1 (or is it 0) should work just fine).
This will get hard drives up. I don’t know if ftdisk will bring new
volumes online automatically though.

I have indeed send rescan bus ioctl to each \.\scsix: port, but NT is
not able to kick off PnP to create \Device\Harddiskx and Physicaldrive
objects, Unlike Win2k. Is there a API that will allow application to
force NT to detect the new logic device? Thanks
