Re: How to determine if system supports APM from NDIS miniport driver or from registry

I do not think your message has enough information. For which operating
system are you writing the NDIS driver?

All laptop BIOSes of which I am aware support APM. I believe most if not
all desktop BIOSes support APM. However, the latest Windows Operating
Systems (98, Me, 2000, XP) support ACPI as the preferred power policy
interface. ACPI is far superior than APM. Windows NT4 knows nothing
about power management either APM or ACPI.

If you are writing a driver for the latest Windows OS it has to be aware
of power events in any case and it does not need to know if the OS is
using APM or ACPI as the interface.
