Re: API call to replace net share User$ /cache:automa tic

Then - is it a parameter for “net use” or for “net share”?

Maxim,

This is an option for Windows 2000. With this option you can synchronise the user-directory from the network to the local hard disk. When the user is not able to connnect to the network, the user is able to continue to work on the documents in his user directory.

What cache do you mean? On my NT4 machine, NET SHARE has not cache options.

Hi,

Thanks, I have looked at NetShareAdd, but I do not see how to use the option /cache:automatic.

Subject: [ntfsd] API call to replace net share User$ /cache:automatic

Hi,

I’m looking for a API, RPC to activate the automatic caching of a directory of a user. Normally I have to do via Remote Command or on the server itself with the command:
net share user$ /cache:automatic

I do not want to do this via a Shell but via an API or RPC

Anyone an idea
