To ensure that the file system filter community is compatible with and has sufficient testing opportunities with Windows 7, IFS Plugfest 21 will provide testing opportunities with Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 only. Windows 7 will be 32-bit and Windows Server 208 R2 will be 64-bit.

The Microsoft File System Filters team is pleased to announce that IFS Plugfest 21 will occur Monday, August 24 - Friday, August 28. Plugfest 21 will be held on the Microsoft Campus.

Although I fully understand Microsoft’s viewpoint on having us test on the latest and greatest, it would be nice to be given the opportunity to choose to test using Windows 2008 and even 2003 (horror - yes people still use it). Perhaps we could use Hyper-V VM’s for the downlevel OSs (if so I’d recommend using fixed size virtual disks and no snapshots)?
