Raw Read/Raw Write CDROM

Hi List:

I need to be able to implement a CD Copying software that would read data
“raw” from the CDROM and “write” back raw data back to a new recordable
CDROM (by raw I mean including sub-code channels, ISRC and such). My
underlying CDROM reader/writer hardware supports both raw read and raw
write. What do I need to do? Do I have to write a new driver for each Win*
OS (9x/NT/2000/XP)? What does it take to do such stuff?

Thanks for your time,

Regards,
Raghav

Forgive me for being cynical, but this wouldn’t by any chance be so you could make copies of CDs which are deliberately designed to prevent you making copies would it? (If not, I’d be fascinated to know why you need a copy that accurate!)

Andy.

Hello:

—> To answer Andy:

Firstly: Not only do people who copy CD-ROM software need to raw read/write
cdroms, but also authors who do the actual copy-protection feature need to
be able to do this (to incorporate copy-protection techniques).

Secondly: No. I’m not writing a program that performs illegal copies of
CDROMs (A general search in google would give list to tons of software that
already do this [please look into BlindReader/Writer, CloneCD etc.]).

—> To others:

I’m genuinely trying to perform a raw/read and raw write on CDROMs for
perfectly “legal” reasons.

—> To Andy and to others:

If you have any ideas, do write me.

Raghav
