Anwar,
I didn’t understand well, which is your Platform? NT4 or W2K/XP?
If is NT4, You need to Rewrite most part of Parclass.sys.
In NT4 platform the original version supplied by MS. supports only
Centronics protocol.
In the past I wrote a similar driver for a specialized printer that works
in ECP mode, let me know if You need more detailed infos where to implement
ECP
protocol’ code.
In W2K/Xp environment, new versions of parclass.sys and Parport.sys (XP),
already supported EPP/ECP mode. But you must configure it from registry
for working with these protocols.
I suggest You, also to visit this site: www.fapo.com/ieee1284.htm
Regards,
Giandomenico.

Riservatezza: Riservato
Hi,
Does anyone have experience of performing data exchange
with the (EPP/ECP) parallel port?
I have a PC with a test kit attached to the parallel port,
and a Visual C++ GUI which needs to read/writes to the port.
I’ve read about the limited access that NT gives to
hardware in user mode. I’m also looking at kernel-mode
drivers, like WinRT, how useful are they?
Cheers, Anwar
