Hi All,
When we do a file save as in Win XP in the IRP_MJ_WRITE or FastIo
Write will we get the section object of the original file or will we get a
buffer in which the data was read from the original file.
The reason I am asking this is, I am interested in associating a
file with its children and if I get the section object I can get the file
object and hence associate the original file with the new file.
Is there any other way of associating a file so that I get to know
that a file is a File Save as of another file.
Thanks in advance.
regards,
shivas

Hi Shiva,
Are you talking of an application program doing a
‘File Save As’? If so, how it handles it should be
very specific to that application.
The usual case, I would imagine, would be to create a
new file.
Am I missing something?
