Hi all,
SetupDiRemoveDevice() seems to be hanging on WinXP SP1 if the device is
attached to the system and the driver is already loaded. On Win2k it does
not hang.
Any work arounds ??

Are you sure that this command hangs on windows XP sp1? We are using the same call on windows 2k, XP sp1, 2003; and it does not seem to have any problem.
There might be a bug somewhere else (near by) or the way you setup the parameters are not correct. However, if you set the parameters wrong then win2K should not work either. Hmmm.
I think you should check the code. Have you tried using BusTrace to find out what command causing the problems?
