I have a question about what is the best way to delete DTM log files and test results.
I found some documentation on deleting DTM log files in Troubleshooting DTM Problems document found at http: in the section titled “Error messages: Out of hard disk drive (HDD) space.” Of course this section indicates that the log files are stored under the temp folder. However, I have discovered that most of the log files are actually stored under “C:\Program Files\Microsoft Driver Test Manager\Controller\WTTSystemLogs.” Is it safe to simply delete the contents of the WTTSystemLogs folder if you first stop the “wttsvc” service and restart the “wttsvc” service afterwards?
Also, I discovered that it is possible to right click on a result in the “Result Explorer” window and select delete. But I have reason to believe that this may not entirely remove the result from the database.
I ask because I tried to simply delete the results from the result explorer and then delete the contents of the WTTSystemLogs folder. When I then created a new submission with the same name as a submission I had created before doing this, it put the results in a folder named “{number}_{SubmissionName}” where “{number}” was one higher than it was for the previous time I created a submission with that name. That tells me that, even though I deleted the results and log files, the DTM controller somehow still knows about the previous submissions.
So what I would like to know is whether or not there is a way to entirely delete the submission including log files and results.
I would appreciate any input you might have on this question.
Thanks.</http:>
Don’t worry - WLK 1.6 is just around the corner (mysteriously delayed this week). Uninstalling and wiping 1.4 made 1.5 run smoother, and this time the OS needs an upgrade too.
As a general question, after a successful signing/logo submission is it worth keeping the old test results?
Tim.
