Query on the IksPropertySet and DeviceIOControl

Hi
I have written a streaming minidriver (for IEEE 1394 DCAM v1.3 complaint)
And have defined 2-3 custom property sets. And also using property set available from microsoft DDK.
Now Iam writing a application for the driver.
Is it must that I should use ksPropertySet interface to access
the the above Property sets.If so how to use the ksPropertySet interface?
Can use DeviceIoControl and IOCTL_KS_PROPERTY to access the above property
sets?If it is possible how can I do it?Can I use IOCTL_KS_PROPERTY for
custom property sets?

Thanks.

You can connect to your device by using system device enumerator that returns interface pointer to
the device. You can then QI it for IKsPropertySet and use it to set and get properties on your
device.

IKsPropertySet in turn calls KsSynchronousDeviceControl, which in turn call DeviceIoControl(…,
IOCTL_KS_PROPERTY, …). So functionality-wise all these methods are identical.
