Query in Ramdisk driver

Hi Wizards,

I am using the Ramdisk driver to create a separate volume and this drive is
only visible in the Mycomputer Explore and I would like to add the physical
device for this volume (i.e. I would like to add a separate basic disk for
the volume and it should be visible in the Disk Manager). Can any one shed
some light on this.

Thanks.

Well, you have to emulate the whole storage stack, and do it properly - as simple as that…

Nah - just the lowest layer. The OP needs to write a virtual scsi miniport
and then he will have a disk and a volume.

Well, by “emulating the whole storage stack” I mean writing a driver that handles all the requests that are sent to the devices of a storage class , and doing it properly…

Where can I look for those low level driver stuffs (i.e. some idea / sample
/ example to work around) which will help me to get the physical disk
stuff.

Well you could search this newsgroup for ‘virtual scsi miniport’. Or google
the intertubes for the same.
