Win2K
I have a NDIS miniport for a USB nic that works fine. I have been using
snetcfg.exe -v -l “.\test.inf” -c c -i “USB\VID_YYYY&PID_XXXX”
both to install and update the driver. This works fine unless PPPOE is
installed. Then it fails to update the driver, but says it was successful.
It doesn’t matter if the device is plugged in or not.
However,
devcon.exe update “.\test.inf” “USB\VID_YYYY&PID_XXXX”
will correctly update the driver, if the nic is plugged in, even with PPPOE
installed.
Is it possible that PPPOE is holding on to the miniport and preventing it
from unloading using snetcfg? Am I using snetcfg improperly?
Any help or insights would be appreciated.
