Thanks Ashvin,
Yes, printui interface is a better way to do this. I have
another question. How about Raster driver in NT 4.0. In NT 4.0
there is no driver.cab file.
Can you please let me know the name of the ocmpressed driver
file name in NT machine
And Printui in NT 4.0 doesn’t have PrintUIEntry interface. How
can I use printui interface in NT 4.0 to install a raster driver
(RASDD.dll, RASDDUI.dll)?
Thanks,
Sridhar

This is one of the caveats of using the AddPrinterDriver APIs
to install
printer drivers. The driver binaries such as unidrv.dll,
unidrvui.dll
etc. are part of driver.cab and the Add Printer Wizard
extracts these
binaries from the cab file. But there is no clean way to do
this when
you are using the AddPrinterDriver approach. This is the
reason for us
recommending that you always install using an INF. If you
want
programmatic install, you can use the printui interface to
install via
an INF.

Subject: [ntdev] Printer Installation QuestionHi,
I am writing an installation application for Unidriver based
driver. I
am not using the INF file. I use AddPrinterDriver function.
Since I am
not using the INF file i need to copy all the base driver
components to
the driver folder before I call this function. I know these
components
are part of the OS but I couldn’t find these files in the
system. I know
that the Add printer wizard will copy these files to printer
driver
folder at the time of installation. But I need to know where
are these
copying from.Thanks in advance,
Sridhar
