I am not sure whether this question is relavant on this newsgroup. but, I
will still ask may be you also have experienced this.
system BIOS initializes some fields in the PCI-X type 0 capability block of
the PCI-X Device. The BIOS initializes the values of the Maximum Memory Read
Byte Count (MMRBC) and Maximum Outstanding Split Transactions (MOST) fields
in PCI-X Device to good known values.
Unfortunately, we are observing that the operating system device drivers
then change these fields to values which can result in incorrect operation
with one of AMD chipset.
My question is,
1.Which windows device driver is modifying these values? any idea?
2. Is there a way to change these values back to the original values by
writting some sort of kernel mode driver?
Please help,
Thanks,
Shakeel.
