I’ve have a Pentium 4 platform, and I have some memory way out on a 66x32 PCI bus that I need to
map uncached and read/write to. I’m interested in how fast I can get data out there, and whether anyone
has tried this. I’d guess the latency will affect the performance more than the raw bandwidth.
I assume there are some write FIFOs along the way, so that writes do not have to wait forever, but each
read request will have to wait the full latency.
Has anyone tried to do this and has real numbers?
Thanks,
-DH
