pci driver installation problem on win server 2008

Hi All,
we compiled the pci driver code on VS 2012 & wdk 8. we first tried to install the pckage on win server 2012 and we successfully installed .(by disabling driver signing enforcement).
then we tried to install the same package on win server 2008r2 & win server 2008. then we are getting an error like" The device has found the driver software but problem encountered while trying to install it. may be the driver files missing or corrupted ".
why it is installing on 2012 and not in 2008 even the same files used??? any idea is highly welcome.
our code is developed using VS 2008 and wdk7. we converted the directories and compiled successfully with wdk8 and VS 2012.

Did you build the driver for 2008 r2? (Win7 compatibility.)

What build env (target OS) have you specified in the WDK settings?

Thanks mark,
we built the driver with wdk7 for server 2008 compatiblity & with wdk8 for
server 2012. now the driver is loading in both OS.

Unless you actually need Win8-only features, you can use your “built for
Win 7” driver in all four systems
