I am working on an OS pre-loader and I want to find a lean graphics library
that will let me make dialog boxes with minimal controls from my pre-loader
code (x86 BIOS level). I found a package called C/PEG, but it requires RTOS.
I do not want any OS or file IO. Just some tight GUI code to make my boot
screens not look like Turbo Vision.
Belive it or not, I have some very basic stuff I wrote years ago, I was
working with a friend on a mini boot load system and so began to code
some VGA16 (640x480) libraries, I had some very basic stuff working, I
also have elsewhere a font library.
Now it maybe that the code is too small to make it economical to
enhance, but if you can’t find anything else, let me know. Will dig out
a .com file that will run on XP and shows what it does.

Great. Ask a graphics list, not NTDEV. This is about developing NT device
drivers.

Ask on alt.os.development, lots of guys there are writing such stuff for
fun (using VESA VBE stuff usually), then choose the most satisfactory one and
talk to the guy about payment.

Check out Ecos or other boot loaders. You may be able
to cobble something from their resources.
Cheers
