OT: New virus

Dear All,

My apologies for broadcasting like this, but I was hit by this new virus
last night (Tuesday August 12), and I thought you might like to be
informed. It’s particularly dangerous, because it spreads proactively
through a security hole in Windows, as opposed to being a typical email
virus. Note, although everything I’ve read says you will be protected by
using XP’s built-in Internet Connection Firewall, I AM running it and
the worm still somehow found a way in. The best way to be sure is to
download and install Microsoft’s fix as soon as possible (fix released
by Microsoft July 16, 2003):

If you see this message and your machine reboots unexpectedly, you have
already been infected:

“This system is being shut down in 60 seconds by NT Authority/System due
to an interrupted Remote Procedure Call (RPC)”
