OT: how to filter some users of this list [in Outlook]

I get this list by email and pretty much have to use outlook. And NNTP
is blocked at work.

I would like to filter some of the more vocal and less useful
contributors. However, I’m not much of an outlook expert and can’t
figure it out.

I tried filtering by ‘from’, but it appears that in email the articles
are from something like “xxxxx@lists.osr.com on behalf of
xxxxx@zzz.com”. However, xxx and yyy appear to change all the
time. And putting “blabbermouth” or “xxxxx@zzz.com” in the rule
doesn’t work.

Does anyone know if it’s possible and if so how?

Oh, and if you know how to filter articles which are replies to articles
from “blabbermouth” that would be excellent.

Thanks,
ScottR

P.S. I probably won’t go to DDC because printer ‘drivers’ probably won’t
be discussed much if at all.

The “bounce” fakery happens in the “Sender:” header. The “From:” header
has the original poster’s address.

Try filtering by subject e.g., “[ntdev]” as well as with “Addressed To”. But
yeah they won’t give you the result that you are expecting. I prefer
maintaining a separate webmail account for NG, so that it doesn’t get
downloaded into my Outlook and I can look at them at my convenience. You can
put a rule to divert mails from OSR to some other folder rather than your
INBOX, which will lessen the impact.

Thanks robert, I totally forgot about the Email header part. Thanks for
pointing that out.

Create a rule and use the “message header contains” option to remove
unwanted contributors.
