Hi Eveyone,
I am using the AMCC S5935 board to learn about WDM programming on W2K.
I am able to run the PCI42 and pktdma samples from the Oney’s
book on my S5935 board. I have no problem.
However, when I try to install the Pci_wdm_v14.zip driver that
I download from the OSR website, my system crashes.
Anyone ever has installation problems with the OSR Pci_wdm_v14 driver on
the AMCC S5935 board?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Peter,
There are several version of this driver floating around: A version
distributed early when our book was written, a version that we initially did
for our seminars, the version from our web site, and a more recent version
(in which we’ve re-written some fo the PnP code and almost all of the Power
management code).
I’m sorry to say that some of the early versions of this driver, written
just after Win2K was released, were not particularly bug free. I’m not even
sure which version we have on our web site at present.
I’ll get the latest, updated, wonderful, version of this sample uploaded
onto our web site. I’ll mark it as V2.0 to distinguish it clearly, and post
here when the files have been uploaded.
Sorry for the trouble… We haven’t been maintaining this example on our web
site nearly as well as we should have.
Peter
