What error is Lyris giving you - is it one of those ‘the first word looks like <…>’ errors?
mm
7201 is an iterim build, i think you would be wasting your time trying to debug the issue because you will need to retest on 7600 afterwards regardless of your findings. Just test on 7600 and see what happens

Dear ListMember,
For security reasons, the NTDEV and NTFSD lists do not accept messages
that are encoded in base64, messags with unusual MIME body parts (such as
audio or video) or messages that have attachments. This includes messages
with attractive little icons in your signature or whatever.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, but this is
the long-standing wish of the majority of list members.

Do they understand that they they are using a build that (I believe) isn’t licensed for retail use? It might even have one of those 60 day EULAS.
Either way, unless they’ve got some special arrangement with msft, it definitely won’t be supported.

when is the rtm public release? i heard it is going to be available to msft
folks within the next 2/3 days…

The reason this most often happens to me is when Lyris helpfully manages to ban all messages not in US+ASCII because they’re encoded. (Most often, this eats all of my replies to anything Maxim posts as a casualty.)
Forcing your encoding to US-ASCII for each message (a PITA) is a workaround.
Of course, if you really included an image attachment, that’s supposed to intentionally break.

This IS helpful. It’s by design. We actually had to do things to GET Lyris to do this. It didn’t do it by default.
We don’t accept message in base64 because they’re a security risk to users who participate in the forums by mail. We also can’t seem to successfully decode them for display via the forum interface, but that’s a side issue. Unfortunately, Outlook 2007 has a nasty habit of defaulting to this mode. You can change this if you want.

Odd that I don’t see Server 2008 R2 (which is what I’m more interested in)
alongside Win7 on MSDN, looking at this:
http://blogs.technet.com/windowsserver/archive/2009/06/02/windows-server-200
8-r2-rtm-and-general-availability.aspx
Confirms my initial belief that rtm was aligned for these products - anyone
from ms confirm that this is still the intention?

Really strange.
For me, this rejection occurs very rarely.
Also, I cannot find “US-ASCII” encoding in Windows Mail
probably it is renamed, it has no English encodings for me at all.
