NTADS

I kind of liken it to the difference between cats and dogs.

Dogs are a lot of work, like posting a thorough, meaningful answer to someone’s posting.
Cats are perceived by some to have value (like my wife and kids), but I consider them all take and no give.
Answers that state that something is difficult are typically worthless unless they are accompanied with a dose of reality (e.g. we did something like that in our product, with experienced NT developers it took us 3 developer months to implement and debug that feature alone).

Maybe the solution to this issue is to create a new mailing list called
[NTADS] and allow all of the folks here who have some great libraries
and products to sell to post to this list.

Those who do not want to be bothered can either filter the emails to a
“read later” folder or not subscribe at all. I am always interested in
what folks on these lists are doing.

Just a thought,

Jamey

That response doesn’t bother me 'cause it directly answers the user’s
question and only indirectly hawks your super
fabulous scsiport replacement. It is the answer that DOESN’T answer the
question at all and yet appears to try to sell
product that creeps me out. And now I really regret having posted
anything at all on this topic :frowning:

This will be interesting…

I know that my wife would divorce me if I likened her and my kids to

Yes, you are correct. I apologize if I tend to make those sorts of
postings. The virtual SCSI issue has been beat to death on this list.
Now, correct me if I am wrong, I think that I also advised the poster to
read the archives of this list to learn more. And I also do not remember
touting our product.

Jamey,

I apologize for my ambiguous wording. Let me restate my intended meaning about my wife and kids. The inflection was meant to indicate that my wife and kids like cats (i.e. they perceive cats to have value).

I don’t know if you touted your product or not, but a meaningful reference to a product is not bad form, if the reference is truly informative and within the context of the intent of the original poster.

This will be my last posting on this thread.

Duane.

I can only pity the people who value dogs more then their wives.

Yes, you are correct. I apologize if I tend to make those sorts of

list.

Once again:

  • virtual hardware-less SCSI miniports based on OS-provided SCSIPORT
are cheating SCSIPORT, and a bubble-gum technology. Unlike other such
technologies like NDIS hooking, it even does not solve the problem
completely - performance suffers, PnP problems etc.etc. The result is
    not a trustworthy product.
  • so, I would un-recommend writing such a thing to anybody.
  • the real solution is to write a full SCSI port, with using the our
    library or without it.
