NT4 printer driver

Hi all,
I have a printer driver for Win2000, but now, I need to porting this driver to NT4 platform, can someone tell me whether the printer driver could be run in user mode on nt4?

Best Regards

No. NT4 printer drivers are kernel mode. However there is a optional component called UMPD which runs in user mode, but rendering is done in kernel mode on NT 4.

It cannot.

Instead of writing a UMPD and what not, the best route is to use unidrv4. This is backported version of Unidrv and it shipped with NT4 SP6. You should be able to use your unmodified GPD along with unidrv4 on NT4 SP6. If you also have rendering and/or UI plugins, you need to follow a backporting procedure to get them to work with unidrv4. This is by far the best approach.
