NT 4.0 Workstation (stand alone - not newtwork - home pc)

Could anybody help me get my Windows NT 4.0 to recognize my CD ROM drive.
The drive came with the box two years ago and was working fine. All of a
sudden the system doesn’t seem to recognize it!

Installed any service packs recently? The cable may have wriggled loose.
Considered upgrading to XP?

Thanks. I haven’t installed any service packs. I will check the cable -
